SIM800L GSM/GPRS Module
The SIM800L is a compact quad-band GSM/GPRS communication module developed by
SIMCom Wireless Solutions. It is designed for embedded systems requiring SMS, voice, and
GPRS data connectivity over cellular networks.
The module communicates via UART using AT commands and operates at a low supply voltage.
Proper power regulation and logic level compatibility are essential to ensure stable operation and
prevent hardware damage.
Features
Quad-band GSM: 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz
GPRS Multi-slot Class 12 (Max. 85.6 kbps download/upload)
GPRS Mobile Station Class B
Controlled via AT Commands (3GPP TS 27.007, 27.005 + SIMCom enhanced commands)
Integrated Real-Time Clock (RTC)
Supply Voltage: 3.7V – 4.2V (Typical 4.0V)
Peak Current: Up to 2A during transmission
